First Dodgers Stich'n'Pitch

Attended the Inaugural Dodger Stitch'n'Pitch a few weeks ago. What a blast. 3 of 4 daughters were in attendance along with one grandchild, future son-in-law and a whole lot of knitters! There was a great spirit of camaraderie (naturally) and with our Dodgers Stitch'n'Pitch tote bag and swag, who could ask for more on a warm California night? I know male knitters hate the patronizing attitudes of others, but I was fascinated to see so many in attendance! My daughter chronicled her experience of the night well on her blog. http://rubyredleftinstitches.blogspot.com/ She did write a comment referring to a noro bag (actually a Booga bag) I've been working on "since 2004" . I only need to bind off the last row, but I have First Felting Fear. I'm afraid to move on to the next essential step. This is actually the second booga bag I'm making, with one more to go. See, I'm sort of doing an assembly line approach. I'll do the felting when all the bags are done. All in Noro Kureyon. The one pictured is in the 124 colourway, the first one is #126, and the next one will be #52. I love working with Noro and watching the color changes.

My goodie bag contained-a hank of Suss handpainted wool with a pattern for #2 Handpainted Hat, from Suss Design of "Hollywood Knits" fame. A set of purple pony pearl needles, one skein of Crystal Palace Splash color #7233, lots of discount coupons from LYS, more patterns and catalogs from Valley Yarns (that's Skrilla on the cover) and Trendsetter yarns.

The latest addition to our family, my grandson, born June 18, 2006 @ 5:51pm-on Father's Day. That's the proud mom, my daughter pictured as well. I'm a grandmother for the first time!

note: I haven't posted in over one year...due to my inability to figure out the technical aspects of this blogging stuff.

Not much going on with regards to the knitting, due to my busy schedule. And the technical challenges (again). Notice a pattern here?

I have ATTEMPTED the baby ugg booties. see what i mean? i just tried the italicize function to emphasize "attempted" and now I can't get the text to de-italicize! I realize by admitting this I am demonstrating my utter ignorance-but surely I am not the only one on the web? At best, this will offer some amusement to someone out there, and eventually (that word italicized) I will figure it out. Anyway, I digress. I attempted the baby ugg booties but couldn't get gage, much less decipher the instructions. The above mentioned daughter finally took over the project-probably concerned that the baby would never get them-you can view the results at her blog Left in Stitches. I can't figure out how to put in the link! oh well, Google it. I'm currently working on the Interweave knits baby kimono sweater..I will post pics next time.
